Gujarat Farali Chiwda is a famous nibble from the western Indian territory of Gujarat that is consumed much of the time during fasting periods. It is a blend of different fixings, for example, potato sticks, peanuts, raisins, and flavors, which are simmered or broiled to make a firm and crunchy nibble.
Here is a recipe for Gujarati Farali Chiwda:
Fixings:
1 cup of potato sticks
1/2 cup cooked peanuts
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup ground dry coconut
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/2 tsp. dark pepper powder
1/2 tsp rock salt
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp oil
Guidelines:
In a container, heat the oil and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and coriander seeds. Sear for a couple of moments until they begin to splutter.
Add potato sticks and sear until they turn firm and brilliant brown.
Add broiled peanuts, raisins, ground dry coconut, dark pepper powder, rock salt, and turmeric powder. Blend well and broil for 2–3 minutes.
Switch off the intensity and let the blend cool down completely.
Store in a hermetically sealed compartment and enjoy as a nibble during fasting periods.
